Overview and Essential Functions

Summary of Position:
A successful Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for posting data, reconciling accounts and maintaining other relevant records to ensure accuracy and timeliness of vendor payments and proper accounting cutoff. Primary responsibilities include vendor correspondence/ payments, annual 1099 reporting compliance and backup support for the AP-related duties of the AP/Purchasing Coordinator. At a minimum, this position requires a good working knowledge of accounting/business practices, ability to use a computer and an understanding of how to analyze data.
Essential Functions:
In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience:
• the ability to work safely, with or without supervision;
• the ability to read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness;
• the ability to work with internal and external (field office) personnel in a professional and courteous manner;
• the ability to communicate with vendors and subcontractors in a professional and courteous manner;
• the ability to understand department workload and determine the priorities;
• the ability to function effectively in an occasional high-stress environment.
Responsibilities:
• Completion of high-level tasks in support of an assigned department/project.
• Receive, organize, file, and maintain documents and/or data for an assigned department/project.
• Communicate with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist assigned department/project.
• Read, interpret, and input data in support of an assigned department/project.
• Additional Duties as assigned.


Qualifications

• 2 years of related work experience.
• Proficient in the use of office hardware and software. (PCs, Tablets, Printers, Copiers, Microsoft, Google, etc.)
• Excellent Customer Service skills and strong English language skills both oral and written.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check.
