We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our Accounting team. In this position, you will Lead and coordinate accounting duties within our subsidiary organization, evTerra Recycling, LLC. The candidate’s responsibilities include overall ownership of all accounting and reporting for evTerra Recycling, LLC. Specific responsibilities include monthly closing of the books, performing account reconciliations including revenue and COGS, reviewing AR/AP entries and production recording done by bookkeepers, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, tax return preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned.
To be successful candidate, you should have a solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and strong financial analysis skills. Candidate should also possess strong advanced Excel skills, be detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work with little to no supervision and perform under pressure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts of Evterra Recycling, one of the subsidiaries of Igneo Holdings
· Strong knowledge and understanding of inventory management, tracking, and reconciliation
· Manage and maintain production and finished goods inventory process and appropriately apply valuation/costing methodologies
· Monitor and maintain CAPEX development spend against the plan
· Review AR/AP and post the entries
· Manage and support bookkeepers for their daily activities
· Supporting business financial needs on all the Evterra locations (Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, and San Antonio)
· Assisting with annual audit preparations.
· Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
· Preparing/assisting for preparation of federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
· Contributing to the development of new accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
· Coordinating accounting functions and programs with different departments.
· Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditure.
· Assisting with monitoring budgets.
· Preparing financial analyses and reports.
· Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong manufacturing/inventory/CAPEX background
- Working knowledge of tax laws and GAAP.
- Strong reconciliation skills, and financial analysis skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and stress management skills.
- Strong sense of professionalism and accountability
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel.
- Knowledge and experience with NetSuite or other ERP systems is a plus
- Frequent (~25%) domestic travels to each of our evTerra locations
- Ability to train and manage staff.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision.
