JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for managing accounts receivable for customer accounts and assisting with accounts payable for four plant locations. The Clerk supports the accounting function by processing accounts payables and receivables and assists with billing, deposits, and other financial activities. The Clerk is responsible for daily invoicing, processing, and collection of accounts receivable, including primary communication with customers regarding billing and A/R issues. The position will perform a variety of accounts payable functions in local accounting software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Processes payments, credit memos, and daily/monthly adjustments and ensures correct accounting
- Collection of accounts and receivable through pro-active communication and dispute resolution
- Performs some Accounts Payable functions, including coding invoices to proper account number for payment, processing of invoices into local accounting software program, researching past due invoices/balances.
- Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
- Calculate, prepare, and issue bills, invoices, account statements, and other financial statements according to established procedures.
- Ensures that cash and sales transactions are posted accurately and timely.
- Monthly preparation of utility reports for all locations, weekly/monthly temp. labor reports, and any additional cost accounting support as needed.
- Reconciles data from multiple sources and identifies discrepancies
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience in field. Associate Degree a plus.
- One to three (1 – 3) years of work-related experience.
- Microsoft Office programs with strong Excel proficiencies, ERP Systems
- Ability to maintain good attendance.
