What you will be doing
The Accounting team has an opening for an Accounting Clerk in the Electronic Banking Department
The position will be based in the National Services Center in Phoenix, AZ.
Main responsibilities
- Process debit and credit card adjustments
- Reconcile bank accounts using Excel and Albertsons systems
- Maintain reconciliation of subsidiary details to General Ledger Control Accounts such as cash over/shorts
- Process journal entries to the general ledger
- Perform data analysis and record fees
- Research and communicate discrepancies with bank and store
- Verify the posting of daily cash deposits to the correct accounts
- Preparation of journal entries, reviewing and verifying accuracy of entries and classifications
- Identify additional account reconciliation opportunities and efficiencies
- Identify and recommend solutions to store, bank or processor issues
- Consistently handle more complex accounting and reconciliation issues
- Review chargebacks and record to the stores
- Review, balance and prepare weekly account reconciliations
- Support team members on all accounting issues and account reconciliations
- Communicate with internal customers: stores bookkeepers, store accounting, loss prevention, Payment services team and IT
- Take the lead on projects requiring research, organization, communication, and problem resolution
- Responsible for completing all tasks timely

- Advanced level PC skills with knowledge of Windows and MS office
- Speed and accuracy in 10 key
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excels in a team environment
- 2+ years college with accounting course work
- 2+ years accounting experience in a large organization with mainframe-based accounting systems
- Honest and trustworthy, exhibiting sound business ethics.
