Accounting Assistant

Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc (LASO) is a non-profit law firm committed to ensuring access to justice for all Oklahomans. LASO seeks an Accounting Assistant in its Oklahoma City administrative office.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five years bookkeeping/accounting experience.
• 6 credit hours of formal accounting training or equivalent preferred.
• Nonprofit accounting experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Review documentation for approval of expenditure, mathematical correctness, receipt of merchandise/services, and code A/P invoices for input.
• Input Accounts Payable invoices into AP system.
• Ensure bills are paid when due.
• Investigate and research all A/P discrepancies.
• Embrace and support LASO’s overall mission, standards, policies and procedures, and confidentiality guidelines.
• Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform other duties as required or requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong working knowledge all basic accounting functions.
• Strong working knowledge of nonprofit accounting.
• Experience with law practice accounting preferred, but not required.
• Skilled use of computer and all programs within Microsoft Office Suite with advanced proficiency in Excel.
• Skilled use of web-based applications and proficiency with learning/using data management systems.
• Experience using SharePoint and One Drive preferred.
• Experience with Concur and Abila (or another accounting system setup specifically for nonprofit fund accounting) preferred.
• Skilled use of accounting software and extremely high attention to detail required.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and time management skills with attention to detail, required.
