Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper
Bryant Companies are a vertically integrated group of companies that offer a full range of high temperature products and services. We are currently seeking an Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeperto join our team in our Tulsa, Ok office.
The Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeperwill be responsible for working closely with our lead accountant to assist with a variety of accounting functions, AP/AR journal entries, job closings/invoicing, as well as other accounting duties. The ideal candidate will have experience with small business accounting/bookkeeping and will be able to work both independently and as a team with minimal supervision.
Accounting Assistant/Bookkeeper Responsibilities:
- All accounting functions for a distribution business: Financial Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Human Resource Accounting.
- Month end closings, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintaining an accurate record of financial transactions including Account Receivable, Accounts Payable, Job Costing, and Inventory.
- Creation of company balance sheet & income statement.
- Maintaining banking and accounting firm relationships.
- Work closely with accounting firm to help generate tax returns and tax estimate payments.
- Oversee credit card and expense report statement reconciliations.
- Calculate and submit monthly sales commissions.
- Oversee job closings and invoicing.
- Audit Inventory accounting and cycle counts including adjusting entries.
- Help create company bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Calculate and monitor multi-state tax sales tax reporting
Requirements and skills
- Minimum 5 years work experience small business accounting.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Hands-on experience with accounting software.
- Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
- Experience with general ledger functions.
- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills.
- An accounting degree is preferred but not required.
- Additional high level IT skills/networking is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
