Come and join our dynamic team at Peak! We are seeking a full-time Billing Assistant to join our interdisciplinary clinic in Norman, OK. Come join our team as we provide a comprehensive and collaborative approach in helping children with autism and other disabilities. Our clinic includes Psychology, ABA, OT, and Speech services. The Position:
- Obtain pertinent clinical information, demographic information, and verify insurance benefits
- Serve as the first line of contact for new referrals
- Conduct eligibility and benefit checks.
- Maintain referrals and receive and track information regarding changes in status
- Coordinate pre-authorization and ongoing authorization of benefits across disciplines
- Perform basic clerical duties and data entry
- Answer telephone and direct calls to the appropriate staff
- Process referrals
- Gather all documentation needed for authorization of services
- Communicate regularly with key referral sources to ensure proper service
- Coordinate with Billing Manager and providers about referrals and authorization status
- Assist the Billing Manager in billing and collection processes, credentialing providers, submitting claims, and managing denial of claims
- Assist client with any questions regarding initial appointments or referrals
- Maintain all clinical records in accordance with HIPAA
- Maintain high quality of customer service in writing, by phone and in person
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment
- Proficient in using electronic devices (computer, tablets) for extended amounts of time
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in business administration or management preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a healthcare environment (Pediatric therapy preferred)
- Experience with private health insurance, including intake, benefits, and authorization
- Experience working in multi-site clinics is a plus
- Must have experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems (Central Reach experience is preferred)
