Job Description
The position supports the Dean in the administration of the college. Duties include clerical, management, budget, administrative business, academic processes, and projects as assigned by the Dean. Works closely in support of the Dean with the academic department chairs, faculty, staff, students, and the office of the Provost.
Job Duties
- Performs administrative support activities including assisting the Dean in monitoring the office travel, purchasing, office files, and managing work orders for various service requests for the office.
- Performs other office support activities including greeting visitors, answering phones, composing routine correspondence, making appointments, managing the office, filing paperwork, and receiving/distributing the mail.
- Assists the Dean, as appropriate, in providing accurate and timely information for decision making, including preparation of routine reports.
- Provides administrative support to the Dean for academic processes, administrative business, office management, clerical functions, & special projects as assigned by the Dean. Works closely with academic department chairs, office coordinators, faculty, students, Provost-Registrar offices.
- Helps keep college faculty records, including salary, teaching loads, tenure and promotion, faculty evaluations, and committees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of academic support functions as described above.
- Skilled in a variety of desktop technology hardware and software.
- Ability to communicate with faculty, students, administrative support departments, and staff.
- Ability to prepare correspondence and routine reports.
- Ability to multi-task and keep tasks organized.
- Knowledge of basic business processes such as purchasing, personnel and payroll, travel reimbursement.
- Ability to resolve simple problems, take initiative, and follow up on a variety of tasks.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
An associate degree from an accredited institution of higher education plus three years secretarial or Administrative Assistant work experience. An equivalent combination of education plus three years secretarial or Administrative Assistant work experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Pay: $32,041.00 - $40,000.00 per year
