SummaryThe Associate General Counsel for Laborand Employment will work with the Deputy General Counsel to assist in a variety of areas including labor (NLRA/LMRA, collective bargaining, unfair labor practice issues, union elections, etc.) and Employment (civil rights laws, ADA, FLSA,, FMLA, OSHA, EEOC, workers’ compensation, employment policies, employment agreements and appointments, etc.), Title IX, administrative investigative matters regarding the United States Department of Education and Office of Civil Rights, student and academic affairs (student disciplinary process, policies, process, compliance etc.); NCAA compliance; law enforcement and Clery Act compliance, transactional, and a variety of related litigation matters. The candidate will conduct research, render advice, represent the University’s interest before administrative agencies, and work with outside counsel. Works closely with the University’s senior administration, faculty and staff.
• J.D. Degree from an accredited law school. • Current license to practice law in Louisiana. • Licensed in good standing without any instances of suspension, revocation, censure or other adverse events in any jurisdiction. • Minimum seven (7) years’ experience as a Labor and Employment attorney.
