The Inventory Specialist I is responsible for all aspects of inventory management at multiple locations.
Responsibilities (include, but not limited to the following)
- Generate and evaluate Inventory Study reports for multiple branches.
- Create monthly branch inventory summary.
- Maintain branch cycle count schedule.
- Support quarterly inventory.
- Calculate appropriate ordering quantities and make recommendations to general managers for inventory ordering.
- Maintain Purchase Order Log and issue purchase order numbers as needed
- Place and monitor material orders along with matching to supporting documents
- Research and input data in dashboard for monthly reporting
- Enter Purchase Orders into ERP creating good receiving notes (GRN’s) and print Purchase Orders copy, sending copy to the warehouse.
- Monitor open PO log and clear out all open PO’s monthly maintain Pad Gain Workbook
- Ensure that receiving documents are properly completed by warehouse personnel
- Generate and review daily Receipt Reports looking for variances as well as inconsistencies
- Issue item numbers and set-up new items in CSI
- Ensure that all aspects of item maintenance are entered properly
- Process bin transfers, stock adjustments, and return-to-stock transactions
- Schedule and supervise regular cycle counts from multiple locations.
- Ensure cycle count adjustment are completed daily.
- Ensure that Special Order paperwork is completed properly
- Resolve pricing problems as requested by Accounts Payable
- Maintain filing system for purchase order control copies, receipt documentation, and inventory transactions.
- Assist with inventory related questions.
- Generate ‘specials’ lists.
- Interface with multiple branches as needed.
- Support current and upcoming improvement projects.
- Assist with various responsibilities at the branch as requested by supervisor
- Monitor and manage virtual warehouses.
Important Goals and Deadlines
- Maintain inventory levels in accordance with Inventory manager goals and alignment with calendar.
- Support quarterly physical inventory counts
- Schedule and supervise monthly pad counts within three days following the end of every month.
- Review the Open PO Line report at the end of every month and resolve aged line items.
- Maintain metrics and reporting for dashboard.
- Attend further education courses monthly.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of inventory management experience preferred.
- Excellent organization skills
- Exceptional attention to detail

- Basic Microsoft Office skills
- High school diploma
