Youth-Nex (The UVA Center to Promote Effective Youth Development) is seeking a Student Administrative Assistant. Youth-Nex trains scholars to conduct research related to promoting effective youth development, intervention, and programming, including preventing problem behaviors. A focus of our work is on translational research and research-practice partnerships with youth-serving organizations and schools. This person would assist the staff on various administrative tasks at the center.
The ideal person must be enrolled as a full time student in a bachelors program at UVA. The position has no set hours but may vary from 2-10 hr/wk throughout the spring semester, with the possibility of continuing into the summer. The individual filling this position is expected to possess the following skills and abilities:
- Possess strong oral and written communication skills.
- Be well organized and have an attention to detail.
- Have demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Drupel website knowledge is preferred.
Responsibilities will likely change over the course of the semester or year and may include:
- Assisting with report creation, formatting and editing of documents.
- Assisting with website updates and other communication needs.
- Assisting in coordination of events and other research project needs.
- Organization and maintenance of paper and electronic files.
- Working in teams with faculty, staff, and other students.
