WOMEN'S HEALTH COORDINATOR
PROGRAM: HIV PREVENTION
CLASSIFICATIONS: Full-Time, 35 HOURS/WEEK
The Women’s Health Coordinator will bring a passion for working with women in areas of empowerment, equity and intersectionality. Under the supervision of the Director of Social Services. The WHC will conduct educational health related workshops (individual or series of workshops) designed to educate women and youth of Color on important areas related to overall wellness- health, sexuality, HIV/HCV prevention, all by using a gender lens that aligns with our vision and mission The ability to outreach in the community while leading to address the programmatic goals of this initiative are key. As we look to launch a “ Women and Girls” department in the Spring a thought partner both internally and externally will be an added asset .
This position requires implementing Evidence Based Intervention/HIV prevention workshops i.e., Sister to Sister, Healthy Love, SISTA and WILLOW Curricula in the community, at partner schools, organizations, and community-based centers. Programming will be focused on addressing social determinants of health for women. The Women’s Health Coordinator will be responsible for community outreach, one-on-one screening and assessment, and health education targeting at-risk population. The Women’s Health Coordinator will also provide coordinated resources and activities for the Maternal Health Program.
Reports to: Director of Social Services
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Participate in outreach services in the community to identify high-risk individuals;
- Engage and refer clients for HIV testing and prevention services; conduct HIV testing
- Conduct HIV testing in the DCS office and also in the community
- Perform screening and intake of individuals needing HIV prevention and/or substance use services;
- Complete and submit all required workshop evaluation summary reports, pre and posttests to Program Manager on a monthly basis;
- Provide resources and facilitate workshops and coordinate activities for the Mothers Gaining Hope Program residence and our maternal health initiatives;
- Assist in maintaining client files, statistical data, and referral logs;
- Assist with data entry into AIRS and DCS client record systems;
- Provide appropriate internal and external referrals for follow-up care and other support services;
- Attend workshops/conferences and represent Diaspora in the service provider community at various meetings and functions;
- Contribute to the development and improvement of program services to meet or exceed all contracted and/or mandated objectives and goals of the program and Community Advisory Council;
- Provide input in planning and evaluating activities;
- Participate in ongoing professional development trainings as identified by supervisor;
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree and 3-year experience required, in health education, conducting evidence-based curriculum workshops and experience working with Women of Color, LGBT youth and individuals living with Knowledge of HIV prevention- Ending the Epidemic (ETE); experience in HIV testing, pre and post counseling preferred;
· Bilingual Spanish, French or Haitian-Creole speaking preferred;
· Capacity to conduct street and community outreach prioritizing diverse populations;
· Experience working with diverse populations. LGBTQ Cultural competency is required;
· Knowledge and skills in working as a team;
· Candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork among staff;
· Candidate must maintain confidentiality regarding client information;
· Required to work flexible hours; which may include after hours and weekends;
Compensation:
Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
