Position Overview:
Under the direction of Chief information Officer, the Director of Informatics and Reporting has the primary responsibility to lead the Informatics and reporting department, including overseeing all analytical activities, data management and development, and managing projects and initiatives to support Ryan Health’s strategic business goals and mission. The Associate director is responsible for providing solutions through leadership and hands on technical expertise to IT teams and the organization in areas of data analytics, reporting, data aggregation, data normalization, data governance and systems integration of all required external database systems. This work is carried out in support of the mission and goals of Ryan Health.
Essential Functions:
- Reporting/Analysis – Develop, distribute and maintain user friendly reports and dashboards and analytics needed to effectively manage and improve operational, financial and clinical initiatives.
- Data Quality - Execute different analytics to ensure the completeness, quality, and consistency of data used for analytics across systems. Work across departments to understand inputs and ensure reliability while providing feedback/recommendations to improve quality. Evaluate historical/new data streams to ensure consistency when translating to business results.
- Direct Network-wide informatics, health information exchange, data collection/data quality projects, related to operational and clinical information management initiatives, resulting in enhanced quality and clinical outcomes reporting and utilization.
- Supervise and assist the Informatics team to ensure timely delivery of reports. Ensure that the team is cross trained on reporting platforms used at Ryan so there are no single points of failures.
- In conjunction with the Senior IT Director and the CIO, provide on-going oversight and direct Project Management activities for implementation of special projects with internal departments and external agencies, including but not limited to Population Health, Care Management, Data Warehouses, Health Homes, and other Care Coordination activities that support the patient's continuity of care.
- Liaison with external agencies for health information exchange and continuity of care projects. Provide monthly updates of Informatics and Data Quality results to management staff and recommend appropriate proactive interventions for improvement as needed.
- Develop tracking and monitoring systems for data validation of key performance measures to ensure compliance with Quality initiatives, including, but not limited to Meaningful Use, PCMH, Data Warehouse (CPCI), and Health Home, Managed Care, and HIVQAL measures.
- Develop and maintain Business Intelligence and Decision Support tools, Sharepoint platform and reports.
- Provide Project Management to implement, configure and update new and revised e-HR modules, structured data fields, templates and reports utilizing tools including Power BI, eBO, BridgeIT, registries, and other tools as required, and lead data collection activities required for a comprehensive Network Informatics program.
- Report any unusual events or problems with program operations to the Senior IT Director or Chief Information Officer immediately.
- Attend all meetings and/or training sessions as required.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Skills Required:
- At least five years’ experience in healthcare Informatics tools, database development, data quality methodologies and report writing.
- Expertise in any major Electronic Health Record (HER) preferably with eClinicalworks, and Clinical Informatics, HIE and Sharepoint.
- Experience in Project Management Methodology.
- Understanding of systems analysis, workflow design and data integrity techniques.
- At least 2 years’ experience as a team lead or manager
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in eClinicalWorks.
- Experience in Business Intelligence software, Power BI, Cognos, Sharepoint, SQL, and BridgeIT.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
Education, Licenses and/or Certifications Required:
- B.A. or B.S., preferably in Information Technology, Engineering, or Health Care, or equivalent work experience.
