The Design Release Engineer is a key position responsible for designing and implementing wiring systems for internal ABS and external customer products. This role will partner with engineers from many other groups to integrate components for a new customer program.
Responsibilities
- Design lead of logical connectivity data for a vehicle wiring program.
- Lead all harness topology and partitioning.
- Package components and collaborate with other systems within the application.
- Harness complexity to product plan including giving away circuit management.
- Lead coding of all circuits.
- Complete electrical connectivity design for a vehicle including Wire-list and DEF files for composite harness design, Load analysis.
- Review and anticipate voltage drop calculations circuit sizing.
- In-line connector pin count determination and circuit protection.
- Ensure customer-specific requirements are met.
- Assist functional areas and facilities in meeting requirements.
- Establish and maintain customer interface on design issues and requirements.
- Facilitate review/approval of related documents.
- Track and report on program progress to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Support pre-launch builds as well as product launches.
- Customer support for current production product concerns as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Predictable and reliable attendance.
Position Qualifications
- Minimum of four (4) years of wiring experience within the Automotive Industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering; Civil Engineering or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Familiarity with CAN messaging systems.
- Experience with model-based behaviors.
- Experience with automotive body computers.
- Ability to interface with connector, PDC, vehicle architecture, and systems engineers to manage all electrical aspects of the Wiring Design.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
