Description
Build partnerships and work closely with functional peers across engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to implement semiconductor strategic objectives. Release semiconductor Bill of material to facilitate on-time sourcing and integration with ECUs in accordance with Global Vehicle Development Process and program timing requirements. Understand and demonstrate ability to explain the GM semiconductor strategy and process to ECU DREs across the company to support their semiconductor BOM release. Run and/or support meetings with ECU DREs as required. Build strong semiconductor fabrication partner relationships ensuring clear understanding of manufacturing process, supply chain business arrangements. Project manage ongoing process/product design changes related to semiconductors within scope of responsibility and present progress to leadership. Establish domain expertise for semiconductors product line within scope of responsibility. This is a purely telecommuting/work-from-home position whereby the employee may reside anywhere within the U.S.
Additional Description
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering. Two years of experience in Job offered or related product development position. Must also have experience with writing and comprehending hardware requirements; experience with vehicle serial data communications (CAN, GMLAN, LIN, SENT, Ethernet) and electrical architectures; experience with mechatronics, microcontroller architectures, memory technologies, and programming; experience with hardware and software design and failure modes in electronic modules; experience with program management; and experience with automotive product release and specification process.
