SUMMARY Design, implement, and manage the Wireless Networking infrastructure for a public K-12 school district with over 150 schools, offices, and support buildings across a single county. Ensure the stability, security, and optimal performance of our Wireless Network environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Design, plan, and implement Wireless Network solutions to meet the organization's connectivity needs and growth requirements.
Configure and manage wireless access points, controllers, switches, and other network devices to ensure seamless connectivity and coverage across the organization. This includes inside and outside wireless access points.
Monitor and optimize Wireless Network performance, addressing issues related to bandwidth, signal strength, and interference.
Collaborate with network engineers and IT teams to integrate Wireless Networks with the overall network infrastructure.
Implement and enforce network security measures, including authentication, encryption, and access controls, to safeguard against unauthorized access and data breaches.
Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments of Wireless Networks, addressing and mitigating potential risks.
Provide troubleshooting and technical support for Wireless Network-related incidents; diagnosing and resolving connectivity, performance, and security issues.
Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in Wireless Networking, incorporating relevant advancements into the organization's network strategy.
Develop and maintain documentation for Wireless Network configurations, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.
Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate and select Wireless Networking equipment and software, ensuring compatibility with existing systems.
Assist in the planning and execution of network maintenance, upgrades, and migrations, minimizing disruptions to end-users.
Assist in training IT staff and end-users on Wireless Network usage, best practices, and security protocols.
May need to work outside regular business hours for network maintenance and troubleshooting.
Perform other duties as assigned.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Engineering Cisco Meraki Solutions (ECMS), Designing Cisco Enterprise Wireless Networks (ENWLSD),or CompTIA Network+ are preferred but not required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Solid knowledge of network security concepts, including encryption, authentication, and intrusion detection/prevention systems. Familiarity with enterprise-grade networking hardware, software, and tools. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, convey technical information clearly, and provide user training. Detail-oriented approach to network documentation and troubleshooting procedures. Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENT
The successful new hire or rehired candidate will be responsible to complete and incur the fingerprinting and processing fee of $54.50 through an appropriate fingerprinting vendor and the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, within 48 hours of offer acceptance.
