- WIC CLERK II
- Warren Location- 32 Hours

- Answers the telephone in a prompt and courteous manner, stating name, department, and offers to provide assistance and is attentive to participant’s needs.
- Forwards all incoming calls to appropriate WIC personnel in a respectful manner.
- Relays messages accurately and in a timely manner.
- Acknowledges all WIC complaints by correctly completing forms, reports to vendor and solves complaints according to State/Local WIC Policies.
- Anticipates and accommodates the needs of WIC participants through proper scheduling of WIC appointment according to participants status.
- Captures initial information to process new WIC participants according to State/WIC guidelines
- Schedules participants for: recertification appointments, nutrition education, follow-up/individual high-risk appointment by verifying participant’s status and base/term dates to prevent interruption of WIC services.
- Maintains WIC appointment schedules through use of computer system and in accordance with State/Local WIC Policies and Procedures.
A.Prints participants schedule function reports daily
B. Correlates participants files according to function and distributes to appropriate staff daily
C. Telephone clients daily for appointment reminders.
D. Completes WIC reminder cards according to State/Local WIC Policy and Procedures, mails within two weeks of schedule appointments.
- Coordinates on-site service to participants
A.Greets all participants in a welcoming manner and address the reason for their visit.
B.Conducts food issuance on WIC Nutrition Card as needed, either at front desk reception or during mid-cert nutrition appointments.
- Maintains closed file system
A.Purging all files on monthly basis (5 years old, inactive women)
B.Shredding charts of children/women who have been inactive for 4 years
- Responsible for clerical/office duties
A.Maintains inventory of office supplies, State forms and completes purchase order when necessary.
B.Maintains systematic order of employee bins, bulletin board and educational materials.
C.Shows effective use of equipment and materials
D. Cross trained in duties pertaining to Data Cert Specialist
E. Attends BSMH and or WIC seminars/in-services
F. Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager
EDUCATION
High School diploma or GED required
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
6 months to 1 year clerical experience preferred
