Description
Position Overview: Under the direction of the Athletics/Aquatics Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor assists in the planning, organizing, coordinating and promoting aquatic recreation programs for adults and/or youth. Performs general management, administration and supervision of the Wet Zone Waterpark operation. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
Supervises classes, workshops and activities for recreation aquatic events. Assists in preparing for publication a variety of brochures, calendars, letters, posters, news releases, flyers and related communications regarding recreation and aquatic programs; promotes interest and provides information regarding programs to the general public. Assists with the coordinating, scheduling, and maintaining related records and statistics for programs and personnel. Coordinates programs, registers participants and collect's fees.
May serve as manager on duty in the absence of the Athletic/Aquatic Supervisor. Responds to public inquiries about recreation programs made by telephone, correspondence or during meetings. Responsible for the supervision of work units. May operate register in concession stand or kiosk as needed, collect money from guests and give change as needed. Assists with customer needs, cash register, stocking and cleaning. Opens and closes facility as needed. Performs related duties and Special projects as assigned. Responsible for regular attendance and arriving to work on time.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED preferred. Background in aquatics or recreation is desirable.
Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing. Ability to supervise and assist with training and monitoring employees (adults, and college/high school students). Ability to manage recreation and waterpark personnel and daily functions.
Other Requirements
Will work a varying schedule, including weekends and holidays as designated by the Athletic/Aquatic Supervisor.
Valid Texas Driver's License. Must have and maintain a good driving record in accordance with the driving standards as established by the City of Rowlett. Must report all traffic citations to his/her supervisor within two working days of receipt.
American Red Cross (or equivalent) LG certification, WSI certification must be obtained within 3 months of employment. LGI certification preferred.
