Haven of Rest Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Gig Harbor is currently hiring a Weekend Receptionist.
Office Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Competitive compensation based on experience and credentials.
The administrative assistant is responsible for:
- Telephone customer service and reception
- Greeting individuals in person
- Maintaining schedules and calendar
- Facilitating communication between families and our licensed Funeral Directors
- Creating & maintaining legal documentation
- Processing billing & payments
- Mail processing and basic ordering
An ideal candidate for this role:
- Professional presence and demeanor
- Proficiency in punctuation, spelling, and grammar
- Empathetic; comfortable navigating grief work with families
- Self-starter, ability to set and complete tasks independently
- Comfortable working alone and in partnership
- Knowledge of basic office software – outlook, word, excel, ect.
- Willingness to learn
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience working with a multi-line phone system
- Previous customer service related work, preferably including fielding over the phone inquiries
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in social work, elder care, or the death care field
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
