Weekend Receptionist

Haven of Rest Funeral Home and Memorial Park in Gig Harbor is currently hiring a Weekend Receptionist.

Office Hours are 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Competitive compensation based on experience and credentials.

The administrative assistant is responsible for:

• Telephone customer service and reception
• Greeting individuals in person
• Maintaining schedules and calendar
• Facilitating communication between families and our licensed Funeral Directors
• Creating & maintaining legal documentation
• Processing billing & payments
• Mail processing and basic ordering

An ideal candidate for this role:

• Professional presence and demeanor
• Proficiency in punctuation, spelling, and grammar
• Empathetic; comfortable navigating grief work with families
• Self-starter, ability to set and complete tasks independently
• Comfortable working alone and in partnership
• Knowledge of basic office software – outlook, word, excel, ect.
• Willingness to learn

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience working with a multi-line phone system
• Previous customer service related work, preferably including fielding over the phone inquiries

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in social work, elder care, or the death care field

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
