Job Purpose: Serves patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; maintaining records and accounts.

· Communicate with patients to accommodate their schedule as well as the physicians.
· Welcomes patients and visitors by greeting patients and visitors, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries in a pleasant and cordial demeanor promoting excellent customer service.
· Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
· Protects patients' rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information.
· Optimizes patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone including taking messages and reschedules.
· Comforts patients by anticipating patients' anxieties; answering patients' questions; maintaining the reception area.
· Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information; recording and collecting patient charges; responsible for daily cash drawer.
· Maintains operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes.
· Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying nurses of patient's arrival; reviewing patient arrival compared to schedule; reminding nurses of delays, etc.
· Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and maintaining patient records.
· Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related task as needed promoting teamwork and patient care.
Skills/Qualifications: Mature, Multi-tasking, Flexibility, Telephone Skills, Customer Service, Time Management, Organization, Attention to Detail, Scheduling, Word Processing , Professionalism, Quality Focus. The ability to be punctual. Computer and keyboard skills.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of clinical procedures usually obtained from a certificate or Associates degree in a clinical program or prior medical office experience is helpful, but not necessary.
