Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator
To operate, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot the wastewater treatment facility and its processes. Work involves responsibility for the technical aspects of plant operations, compliance with state and federal operating regulations. Work is performed with considerable independence under the direction of the Chief Operator, subject to review through reports and results achieved.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of sampling, monitoring, and testing required to maintain compliance with Federal, State and Local regulations governing the wastewater treatment process.
- Maintain open communication with the Chief Operator regarding the treatment process operation and malfunctions, as well as make recommendations for repairs and improvements to these systems.
- Perform all work in conformance with Occupational Safety and Health Act regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Must possess at least a Massachusetts Grade 3 Industrial Wastewater Treatment License
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Have a working knowledge of the operation, methods, procedures of a wastewater treatment plant and the associated treatment plant equipment and the ability to diagnose and correct equipment malfunction.
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule for a plant that operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
