Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:Duties assigned to this title will require an in-depth knowledge of Transportation Studies, with a preference for sustainable transportation, driving behavior studies, and machine learning applications in transportation. The duties will require publication experience, independent discretion, and judgment in conducting research activities, developing research methods, and mentoring students.
This is a Grant Funded position.
- Brainstorm research concepts, secure external funding, design test plans, develop transportation computational models, and interpret research results in sustainable transportation studies.
- Contribute to the work of experimentalists and other computational researchers in the group.
- Contribute to the mentoring of undergraduate and graduate students.

Hiring Range:$41,976.00 - $52,470.00
Education:Ph.D. degree in transportation engineering, civil engineering with a concentration on transportation, or other relevant majors.
Required Licensing/Certification:None Required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:
- Sustainable and multimodal transportation.
- Machine learning and data science techniques.
- Commonly used transportation software packages.
- Detail oriented.
- Problem-solving and decision-making.
- Multitasking and time management.
- Both verbal and written communications in English.
- Program in R, Python, or MATLAB.
- Expertise in multimodal transportation and/or transportation environmental studies preferred.
- Experience with computational modeling of transportation studies preferred.
- Experience with driving behavior, traffic safety, and advanced data processing preferred.
- Work is performed in a routine office environment without exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions.
- Limited to sitting and/or standing.
- Stoop, bend, or lift.
- Handling of lightweight objects.
