Your future opportunity with us:

We are seeking a VP of Business Development and Partnerships. You'll spearhead our path in gaining access to the widest and best business listings through developing and nurturing business owner, broker and partner relationships. As a key part of our early team, you will be a leader in growing our company and have a direct impact on the future of our business inventory. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll own the short term decision making & long term strategic planning of business listings from brokers and business owners

The ideal candidate has business buying and selling or broker experience with a large existing network. You need to have a vision in order to make a big impact for BizScout buyers, sellers, partners, and clients that you can inspire in our suppliers and your future team. You must have a love of main street over wall street. You'll have a Business Development mind set and a passion for helping us understand the goals and pain points of our new and existing sellers and partners so we can build the product in the market for them.

What you'd be leading:
  • Lead the path to growth and development of our portfolio of broker client accounts, and develop new accounts and Partnerships to ensure we have the best assortment of listings on our technology platform
  • Cultivate strong relationships and trust with our brokers to help them achieve success on our platform. Conduct regular in person meetings which will require travel including by car.
  • Manage broker and partner expectations around their exposure and performance of their listings on the platform
  • Act as a trusted advisor to our business brokers on all related matters to help them achieve their selling goals. Inform them about the status of their profile, leads, listings as well as learn their pain points and successes to help inform our product roadmap
  • Prospect new clients, brokers and partners to drive sales and close new business
  • Lead the execution of the department's strategy and its roadmap
  • Work to understand the commercial, financial, product, technology, data needs to move forward Business Development and Partnerships team
  • Manage and lead a team of direct reports to hit sales targets and build efficient and automated sales operations process
The experience you'll bring us:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • +8 years of experience in sales, partnerships and Business Development including in the business brokerage industry with a large network is highly preferred
  • +5 years in a senior leadership position having directly lead teams and built commercial strategies with department ownership
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and quotas in a customer centric environment
  • Startup experience is a plus
  • Technology and marketplace experience a plus
  • +7 years experience working with customer experience management databases (CRM)
  • +7 years experience using Microsoft office suite
  • A current valid driver's license

Target Salary Range:
  • $150-$250k plus incentive bonuses and equity

The target salary range is a subset of a competitive total reward package including equity, benefits and incentive pay as applicable. Individual pay may also vary, as it takes into account a number of parameters including experience, location, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
