The Role
The FI Organization is seeking an Alts Investment Product Strategist with proven subject matter expertise in capital markets, alternative products, and the competitive landscape. The strategist is the primary client facing interface to our advisor clients and should therefore be able to clearly articulate Fidelity’s POV and how it could translate into portfolio positioning. The strategist will work alongside field wholesalers to generate strong sales lift from our clients and prospects. Lastly, the candidate will collaborate with asset & product management resources to influence our product roadmap, develop messaging, and core content to support the asset class.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor's degree required. MBA or equivalent graduate degree a plus.
CFA or CAIA preferred
10+ years of sales or product experience preferably some in Alternative Investments
Series 7 and 63 licenses required
Maintains excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Ability to influence decisions and direction across FI and in intercompany relationships
Must have in depth knowledge of Fidelity and/or competitive products
Excellent time management and organizational skills are critical to success
Proven ability to successfully build and manage relationships with Advisors
Demonstrated ability to implement and apply needs-based selling techniques and strategies
Track record of successful client interaction and follow-up are required
Ability to build internal partnerships and relationships in a team environment
Ability to travel 50%
Provide SME on Alternative Investments to sophisticated buyers at advisor firms; ability to explain the application within a portfolio construction framework
Support on and off platform sales; engaging in sales interactions, speaking at conferences and to industry gatekeepers and centers of influence
Build and maintain strong knowledge of current economic and market conditions through monitoring of financial industry media. As an Alternatives strategist, the individual should be able to offer actionable insight and information on markets in order to establish oneself as a valued resource
The Team
Fidelity Institutional provides investment management services through investment professionals at financial institutions nationwide including wirehouses, regionals and independent broker/dealers, bank, trust companies, and insurance companies. The company offers Fidelity Advisor Funds, Variable Insurance Products (VIP) Portfolios, Fidelity Advisor 529 Plans, Systematic Investment Plans, Institutional Money Market funds, and a comprehensive line of retirement products and services in partnership with Fidelity’s Workplace Investing arm. Our clients are financial institutions and investment professionals (IPs). Our goal is to help our clients grow their business so that we can increase our assets under management, and our market share.
The base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $175,000 per year.Placement in the range will vary based on job responsibilities and scope, geographic location, candidate’s relevant experience, and other factors.
Base salary is only part of the total compensation package. Depending on the position and eligibility requirements, the offer package may also include bonus or other variable compensation.

At Fidelity, our goal is for most people to work flexibly in a way that balances both personal and business needs with time onsite and offsite through what we’re calling “Dynamic Working”.
