Position Overview

Equi is seeking a Product Specialist who will be embedded within our investment team and collaborate with our investor relations team to tell the stories of our products and services. This person will serve as a resident expert as it relates to Equi’s investment strategies as well as their knowledge of financial markets and broader Investment Products. The ideal candidate has an expertise in hedge funds and will have demonstrated success in translating investment team research and trading strategies into marketing materials and investment related content.

Key outputs will be marketing & investor relations materials for current and prospective investors, including investor presentations, exposure and risk reports, macroeconomic thought leadership articles, and other related content that facilitates investor inquiries. This person will play an integral role in owning and creating fundraising, marketing, and ongoing investor relations materials. 

Responsibilities40% Content Creation
  • Develop and create a range of marketing materials (eg pitch deck, tear sheet, etc) translating complex investment ideas and data into story-driven, logical, and visually engaging formats

  • Work cross-functionally to write/produce proactive investment content that addresses the changing macro environment, investment team's views, and common client questions

  • Ensure ongoing client presentations are of the highest quality and that the latest industry research/ regulatory requirements/analysis/messaging is incorporated.

  • Co-own the creation of compelling, institutional marketing collateral to support current funds, new product launches and ongoing sales activity.

40% Support for Investor Relations
  • Manage the process of updating fund and corporate level materials on a monthly/quarterly basis.

  • Produce ongoing investor communications (eg monthly investor newsletter, quarterly report, and macro outlooks)

  • Respond to ad-hoc and recurring client requests (e.g., Risk Reports, Exposure Analyses, RFPs, DDQs,, investment team insights).

  • Assist in the completion of investor information and diligence requests (RFIs, RFPs, DDQs).

  • Serve as a product expert in meetings or calls with clients

  • Play a key role in maintaining investor data rooms.

20% Investment team support
  • Assist with the manager Due Diligence and selection processes both in terms of breadth and investment quality, with the overall aim of providing best-in-class Investment Products to our clients.

  • Support the investment team with IC memo production

  • Collaborate within the investment team to summarize the team's views on portfolios, managers, and the market environment

Knowledge / Experience
  • 4-6+ years of investment research experience or in a Product Specialist, investor relations, or financial research role within a hedge fund, investment consultant, or placement agent.

  • CFA or CAIA preferred

  • Prolific writer and communicator

  • A strong understanding of markets and Investment Products, as well as the requisite materials that are required to address investor inquiries and Due Diligence

  • Ability to construct top quality presentation collateral with clear and consistent messaging, while leveraging technical product knowledge and market insights.

  • Proficient in understanding institutional and retail client expectations and requirements

  • Mastery of email marketing and CRM systems is a plus

  • Ability to work independently within a team to meet demanding deadlines. Works comfortably in an entrepreneurial environment, seeks to continuously enhance own relevant skills.

  • Strong attention to detail.

Compensation Range: $100K - $160K
