Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Vice President of Salesto join the Ligting Sector Pinnacle Team. This is a remote position reporting to Denver, CO. The VP of Sales is a strategic, creative, results-oriented leader, who generates business sales and profitability via lighting agent sales channel. This position leads, supports and accelerates the sales and growth of our existing core products, while also developing and expanding on market opportunities. The right candidate demonstrates the tactical ability to mix strategy and execution and drive initiatives that will position Pinnacle as a leader in architectural lighting products.
Responsible for planning and directing all aspects of Sales policies, objectives, plans, and initiatives. Leads the Outside Sales organization and collaborates with Pinnacle’s Executive Team. Ensures maximum sales volume for Pinnacle’s products and services.
What Will You Do?
- Develops annual sales plan in support of the organization's strategic initiatives and objectives.
- Gathers, analyzes, and communicates market and business trends, sales information and competitive intelligence.
- Recommends sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analysis.
- Provides support for the design, development and implementation of products and service lines.
- Provides leadership, guidance, development, and motivation to staff to achieve superior results and accomplish overall business objectives. Establishes and maintains employee performance standards. Works with employees to set goals and define development needs. Provides ongoing, timely feedback and periodic formal performance evaluations, per company guidelines.
- Ensures communications are coordinated, supports sales plan objectives and organizational expenditure requirements in conjunction with Marketing programs.
- Oversees the growth in sales and volume, manages margins and controls selling expenses.
- Builds, develops, and manages direct and indirect sales teams: AVPs and Independent Sales Representatives as applicable.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, marketing, or business administration, prefer a master’s degree in one of those areas.
- Must have 15+ years of experience in the sales and marketing sector of the lighting industry and must be able to demonstrate a successful track record as sales executive that have met or exceeded objectives including revenue goals. This position will be a member of the Executive team and answers to the President.
- Extensive knowledge of the specification lighting market and sales channels within the lighting and electrical market.
- Able to provide vision and leadership to the sales organization.
- Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to lead and manage a sales team and successfully develop staff members.
- Partner with senior leaders to develop short-term planning, sales forecasting, and strategic planning.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills which allow her/him to communicate sensibly to stakeholders inside and outside of the organization.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to think “out-of-the-box” in improving corporate performance by influencing colleagues and management to improve returns on specific projects and the business.
- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales budget, projecting expected sales volumes and profit for existing and new products.
- Lead a sales team daily and drive performance of the team to assure that sales targets are achieved.
- Manage key customer relationships and close strategic opportunities.
- Develop and maintain suitable pipeline of potential opportunities in order to deliver on sales targets.
- Devise new and innovative ways to market products.
- Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to company leadership team and other company functions.
- Coordinate demand planning and fulfillment of orders with production/manufacturing/distribution function.
- Define and oversee sales force compensation and incentive programs that motivate the sales team to achieve their sales targets.
