General Description:
The VP of Operations shall promote the culture, standards, values and working environment as outlined by the President and will serve as the primary strategist for the development and execution of the operations at Kennebec Lumber Company. This position will create an effective and committed operations culture of Quality through promoting strict adherence to all policies and procedures. The VP of Operations will collaborate with the entire organization to help establish and support Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in order to attain overall budget goals with respect to both revenue, production and earnings objectives. The VP of Operations will support Human Resources (HR) in the hiring process for operations personnel while promoting employee education and professional development as needed throughout the organization.
Responsibilities:
§ Strategic Planning
§ Mentor and develop the operations management team to instill the KLC culture of unwavering quality combined with industry leading production
§ Collaborate with executive management and operations in the development of production goals in concert with company objectives
§ Responsible for working with the VP of Strategic Initiatives to develop strategic mill improvement plans that support improving safety initiatives, process efficiency and production
§ Accompany Directors (both Operations and Safety) on routine inspections of facilities to ensure both safe work conditions and safe employee work practices.
§ Support KLC’s safety dept on All OSHA and Regulatory Compliance Items
§ Participate, Motivate, Support, and Implement on site safety practices and culture
§ Responsible to provide a weekly summary to the President to capture the activities for the week and any pending items for discussion
§ Travel as needed
§ Perform other related duties as Assigned
Qualifications / Requirements:
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field or other related experience
§ Demonstrated experience serving as an effective facilities leader within a similar industry.
§ Professional expert with the ability to articulate progressive positions and strategies and to grow future leaders.
§ Relationship-centered leader with a desire to cultivate a sense of pride and growth amongst the team.
§ Ability to develop and grow future leaders.
§ Proven-track record as a trustworthy, transparent, and ethical leader who is well-respected.

§ Experience with development and control of an operating budget for a multi- facilities operations.
