The role
As a Vice President, Medical Communications you will be responsible and accountable for the strategic, operational and commercial leadership of the agency team under your care, ensuring alignment with the Prime Group vision, VOS and values. You will play a leadership role in supporting organic and business development activities across the practice and wider group and have an active role on the Medical Communications Group leadership Team (GLT), providing strategic solutions to improve outcomes in the practice.
Responsibilities
  • Ultimate responsibility and accountability for your agency, setting objectives to achieve delivery excellence and organic and new business growth (measured in terms of overall account performance, financial performance, and growth)
  • With support you will implement and lead your agency leadership team and work in partnership to deliver on growth and operational KPI's for their agency
  • Responsible for implementation, development and maintenance of agency culture in line with the Prime Groups values of be human, be passionate, be exceptional and be brave
  • Define the strategic direction for your agency and drive growth plans
  • Line management of senior agency personnel from both CS and SS
  • Implement training and development as needed
  • Oversight of client leadership and strategic input where needed
  • Drive client relationships, innovation and excellence, taking responsibility for leading relationship development for all clients, working with account leads to instil this external facing skill set
  • Support team leads as required to provide clients with a high-quality service, participating in client health checks and with issue management
  • Overall accountability for financial management of agency, ensuring accuracy and reporting to SVP/EVP and ET
  • Collaborative responsibility for aligning and tracking of all agency MSAs, terms of practice and pricing, including cost negotiations with procurement and input at RFI and e-Auctions
  • Work in partnership with SVP, agency leadership team (ALT) and Group BD team to develop new business development plan for your agency to drive new business, tracking/driving opportunities and measuring success

Requirements
  • 10+ years 'relevant' experience preferably in a full-service Medical Communications agency
  • Ideally a life sciences degree, preferably combined with a Master's or PhD, or other relevant qualification
  • Excellent interpersonal / relationship development skills - able to influence colleagues and clients, and to actively listen
