Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures
- Handle and restrain animals during veterinary procedures
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian
- Monitor and care for hospitalized animals
- Perform basic laboratory tests such as fecal floats and heartworm tests
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of surgical instruments and equipment
- Provide post-operative care to surgical patients
- Educate pet owners on topics such as medication administration and post-operative care
Skills:
- Proficient in animal handling and restraint techniques
- Knowledge of aseptic technique to maintain a sterile environment
- Experience in pet sitting and providing pet care
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology
- Ability to perform animal catheterization when necessary
- Skilled in veterinary critical care to assist in emergency situations
