Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Perform basic laboratory tests and collect samples
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Monitor and record vital signs of animals
- Clean and maintain examination rooms, equipment, and instruments
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist during surgical procedures
- Provide post-operative care to animals
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment
Skills:
- Dog handling: Ability to safely handle and restrain dogs of various sizes and temperaments
- Veterinary: Knowledge of basic veterinary procedures, terminology, and medical equipment
- Dog training: Understanding of dog behavior and training techniques
- Animal care: Experience in providing general care for animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
- Aseptic technique: Familiarity with maintaining a sterile environment during medical procedures
- Kennel: Knowledge of kennel operations, including cleaning, feeding, and monitoring animal behavior
- Animal handling: Ability to handle a variety of animals safely and with compassion
- Pet grooming: Basic grooming skills, such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Animal husbandry: Understanding of animal nutrition, breeding, and general health management
- Veterinary terminology: Proficiency in understanding and using medical terms related to veterinary medicine
