Job Summary
UT Southwestern is in search of a Control and Data Acquisition System (CDAS) Operator to join their Utilities Station team in the Facilities Management department.
CDAS operators at the Clements University Hospital (CUH) are responsible for monitoring and controlling HVAC conditions in the CUH, Zale Lipshy, Ft. Worth Moncrief, and Plano/Richardson clinics. The operator acts as the afterhours (nights and weekends) non-emergency call center for staff, patients, and visitors. In the event of utility outages, CDAS acts as the command center for Facilities Management staff to restore affected utility systems; monitors the Building Automation System, elevator status, the Fire Alarm system, medical gas system and alarms, bed board status, the TransVac system, Swiss Log system, the Cetani temperature monitoring system, and various other critical components in hospital operations.
Work Location: Dallas Campus, Clements Hospital
Shift Requirement: Saturday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Sunday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Monday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM Tuesday, 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Experience and Education Qualifications
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED.
Previous Building Automation or Energy Management System experience required.
Three (3) years’ experience in operation and maintenance of HVAC controls, air handlers, steam and chilled water air conditioning, and pumps.
Proficient computer knowledge in Microsoft office software and facility management software. BACnet protocol experience helpful.
Excellent customer service experience required.
Job Duties
Operates the Central Data Acquisition System, which consists of Energy Management Software from multiple Building Automation Systems.
Monitors the utility alarms on campus and analyzes alarm conditions to determine course of action.
Assists in remote troubleshooting of equipment failures.
Using the EMS, operators remotely monitor and control the campus air handlers, exhaust fans, chillers, boilers, pumps, space temperatures, humidity, etc.
Monitors critical customer equipment and freezers.
Dispatch appropriate shop personnel via radio or pager to respond to alarms that cannot be controlled by CDAS.
CDAS is the campus and University Hospitals call center after normal business hours.
Operators will assist callers with a variety of customer requests.
Record all alarm events and customer calls into the Customer Request Log for work order assignments.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Work requires knowledge in HVAC digital control systems for all aspects of cooling, heating, and ventilation systems.
Work requires previous computer knowledge in Microsoft office software and facility management software. BACnet protocol experience helpful.
Work requires previous customer service experience.
