Brief PROJECT Overview

Support the work of USP’s Council of Experts and Expert Bodies by updating quality standards for USP Minutes & Notes (M&N).

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Attend M&N Style Team meetings, and capture notes and action items; work with Team Lead to follow up on action items
  • Work with USP staff to obtain and incorporate feedback on M&N style and processes
  • Support the development of a proposal for the updated M&N style and process documents
  • Assist in the development of multiple PowerPoints that will be presented to leadership and will focus on proposed revisions to M&N style and processes; help Team Lead implement and/or follow up on feedback received
  • Help Team Lead finalize revisions to M&N style and process documents

How will YOU create impact here at USP?

You will support the M&N Style Team as it supports USP and its volunteers by providing written and edited content that is clear, engaging, and impactful, thereby advancing USP’s mission to improve global public health.

Your Impact Will:

  • Ensure quality and up-to-date standards for USP M&N in preparation for the 2025–2030 Cycle Transition
  • Provide standardized processes/documents that can be easily located by all USP staff and implemented across all Program Unit Teams (PUTs) and Expert Bodies
  • Streamline M&N templates to increase notetaking efficiency while meeting USP legal requirements and stakeholder needs

Candidates Should/Must Have the Following Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or other relevant fields
  • Strong knowledge of the English language, with a comprehensive understanding and correct use of English grammar
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Strong writing and editing skills
  • Ability to identify and summarize key points from highly complex presentations and discussions
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Windows OS, Adobe, and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
