Job Description
The Phoenix Area Distribution Center is in Tolleson, AZ, has an opening for a Transportation Supervisor. The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for assisting management in the supervision of drivers and staff of the Transportation Department.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of product from the Distribution Center in Tolleson to all company owned stores in the Southwest. #LI-SAIZ
Responsibilities include and are not limited to,
- Communicating to the work force ways to promote a safe work environment.
- Implement cost-saving measures through working closely with drivers’ dispatchers and software vendors.
- Managing equipment and manpower requirements for daily operational needs
- Monitoring employees daily work assignments and spearheading safety initiatives for the department.
- 2-year college degree, Bachelors preferred or 5 years progressive trucking experience.
- 2 to 5 years of proven supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of Department of Transportation laws and regulations
- Knowledge of HOS and Dispatching routing systems, MOBI and Prospero experience are a plus
- Familiar with a union work environment and time and attendance procedures and requirements
- High degree of initiative and working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Possess transportation experience including loading of trailers and store delivery procedures. Possess basic knowledge of schedule function. Experience driving diesel-powered tractors and a current CDL helpful.
