Steering Shipments with Precision, come Lead Us as Our Shipping Supervisor!
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Shipping Supervisor to oversee our shipping operations in the manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping and logistics, with strong communication and problem-solving skills. If you have a proven track record of ensuring accurate and timely shipment of orders while maintaining excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Ensure orders are prioritized based on instructions from supervisors or the sales department.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
- Use RF scanners, where applicable, to record accurate information such as tracking details, box/weight count, and product identification.
- Verify that scanned information matches order requirements and resolve any discrepancies.
- Enter shipping information accurately on hardcopy packing lists, customer invoices, freight manifests, bills of lading, and/or in the computer system.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, including tracking numbers, carrier information, and delivery status.
- Coordinate with freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries according to shipment requirements and customer deadlines.
- Communicate any special instructions or shipping requirements to the freight companies to ensure smooth transit of goods.
- Address any shipping-related issues promptly, such as delays, damages, or incorrect shipments.
- Collaborate with supervisors or the sales department to resolve issues and find alternative shipping solutions when necessary.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in shipping and logistics, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in using RF scanners and shipping software/systems.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of shipping regulations, carriers, and freight services.
- Problem-solving skills and ability to resolve shipping-related issues effectively.
Shift:
M-F, 7am - 4:30pm, 9 hour shift, 1/2 hour lunch break
