The Job
You will play a vital role in supporting CNN's in-house production unit, Image+Sound. Ideal candidates will be looking at careers in journalism: producing, writing, reporting and working on an assignment desk. In addition, an interest in business leader in a production unit as there will be opportunities to support and learn from production leaders.
CNN is an organization that is 24/7. As an intern, you will work in the office or hybrid and can work various schedules including early mornings, late nights and/or weekends. This internship will be located in the Atlanta area.
The Daily
Duties could include:
  • Support Image+Sound leaders in telling the story of our work across platforms.
  • Researching editorial information and video elements for producers working across CNN's platforms.
  • Logging and verifying information for use in package production and digital articles.
  • Recording incoming content from bureaus, correspondents and affiliates.
  • Prompting for CNN's renowned anchors across the globe.
  • Attending show and business meetings.
  • Supporting business leaders in reviewing information about the business to make production decisions.

The Essentials
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Must stay up to date on the daily news cycle
  • Ability to work on a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment and superior organization and communication skills
  • Familiarity with editing software, such as Adobe Premiere
  • Must be actively enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergrad (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.

What to know before applying:
  • The duration of the summer program regardless of which start/end option is 11 weeks.

  • Program date options:

  • Option 1: June 3rd - August 16th
  • Option 2: June 10th - August 23rd

  • Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
  • Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
