Lighting Unlimited is a rapidly growing, family-owned lighting distributor located in Central Phoenix with three additional branches located throughout the Valley. Founded in 1989, the company has grown to meet the challenges and opportunities that have arisen with an ever-evolving lighting industry. Our goal is to provide customized lighting solutions to our customers through our passionate and expertly trained lighting specialists.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated and driven leader to join our Operations team. In this role, you will lead a small team in our primary Warehouse in central Phoenix, play a pivotal role in our day-to-day operation, and partner with fellow leadership to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Position Responsibilities:
- In collaboration with the Supply Chain Operations Manager, responsible for fostering a professional culture based on Safety, Quality, and Continuous Improvement.
- Manage all warehouse operations in our central Phoenix location, including Inbound, Outbound, and Inventory Control functions.
- Inbound receiving of product including unloading and sorting, quality, and admin controls, and put-away.
- Responsible for executing daily cycle counts, auditing exception reports, and ensuring total inventory health for both our stock-and-flow product and project-related sales orders.
- Outbound order preparation and shipment through an efficient pick, pack, and delivery process utilizing one of our many shipping methods including 3PL's, Company truck, or Will Call.
- Mentor two local, direct reports and assist with the training and supervision of warehouse-related activities at our 3 remote branches.
- Daily engagement with our various warehouse-related vendors, including but not limited to non-inventory, HVAC, forklift/equipment maintenance, security, and other utilities.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to resolve shipping discrepancies, damages, warranty, and freight claims.
- Implement cost reduction strategies to target operational KPIs through root cause analysis.
- Develop and document updated standard operating procedures.
- Partner with the Supply Chain Operations Manager and Counter Sales team to restructure our warehouse layout and transaction strategy across all branches.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of experience in an operations, manufacturing, or distribution environment in a similar or related industry.
- 2-3 years of leadership experience, overseeing teams and processes.
- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
- Familiar with ERP systems, WMS, and IT tools (i.e. scanners).
- Lighting and/or Electrical industry knowledge.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and thorough.
- Independent, self-starter who can multi-task and requires minimal supervision.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills - must be able to work together with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work in both an office and warehouse environment.
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform basic warehousing duties, and interact with various products on shelving, pallets, etc.
- Physical conditioning to sit, stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to read and comprehend small print.
