SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for this position, you must meet the Specialized Experience, Education, or a combination of both as described below:
Specialized Experience - At least 1-year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-09. Experience, education, or training performing, administering, or supervising technical and analytical work concerned with planning, development and execution of traffic policies and programs. Experience interpreting applicable Federal, State, and local laws, and regulations concerning transportation and traffic procedures. Knowledge of transportation requirements and systems for specific geographic areas (International and Continental United States). Managing or participating in managing a transportation or traffic program involving operating a transport or traffic system to move passengers or commodities of an organization when there is accountability for operating costs; operating a transportation system to provide common carrier types of services to shippers; and procuring common or other carriers and other transportation services to move an organization's personnel, freight, and/or other commodities. Conducting or participating in conducting surveys and studies of the TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT function, operating methods, procedures, and performance. Making presentations on traffic matters before Federal, State, or local regulatory bodies. Performing loss and damage prevention work when this included responsibilities such as policy and procedures formulation and studies of traffic operations and services. Negotiating with carriers and/or regulatory bodies on questions of rates, transit privileges and charges, special services and charges thereof, and classification of commodities. Providing advisory service involving commodity analysis from the transportation standpoint.
OR
Education - Possess a Ph.D, an equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree. Major study must be in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position. NOTE: In order to be considered for this position using education as a basis of qualification, you must submit a copy of your transcripts.
OR
Combination - A combination of Specialized Experience and Education as described above. Only graduate education in excess of that required for a Master's degree or equivalent may be used when combining education and experience to meet the total qualification requirements. NOTE: In order to qualify for this position using a combination of experience and education, you must submit a copy of your transcripts.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Resume must have complete dates and hours worked per week for each occurrence of both civilian and military employment (Example: 2 JAN 1980 to 3 MAR 1981; 0800-1630 M-F or JAN 1980 to MAR 1981; 40 hrs/wk) Use of year only will result in disqualification.
