Job Purpose:Reporting to the Plumbing Supervisor, the incumbent serves as a plumber at the master craftsman level to install, repair and maintain water, steam and sewer systems.
Job Summary:- Inspects, maintains and repairs water, steam and sewer systems and makes recommendations regarding system upgrades or replacement.
- Installs new equipment, piping and fixtures.
- Performs preventive maintenance and required testing on plumbing systems, including backflow preventers.
- Serves as lead for assigned projects/work orders and provides training and technical advice/assistance to journeyman plumbers.
- High school diploma,
- Three years of professional experience at the master craftsman level, and
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
Technical training in the plumbing trade.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Summary:- Knowledge of water, steam and sewer systems maintenance and repair.
- Expert plumbing installation, maintenance and repair skills.
- Ability to use applicable hand and power tools.
- Ability to lead others in troubleshooting and making emergency repairs.
- Ability to read, understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, co-workers and supervisor.
