Toddler Teacher Assistant

Beanstalk Preschool, near Center City Philadelphia is hiring a Full-time Teacher Assistant.

TEACHER ASSISTANT RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide a safe and loving environment for children in his/her care
• Work with the teacher to implement lesson plans
• Verbally engage and play with the children throughout the day
• Feed children drinks and solid foods as age appropriate and provided by parents
• Toileting or Diaper Changing as needed
• Soothe children when needed
• Supervise children on the floor as they play with age appropriate toys
• Put children down for nap time
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate activities

TEACHER ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have at least two years of child care center experience
• Must have at least a High School diploma but a CDA is preferred
• Meet annual professional development requirements, per Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL)
• Ability to pass background checks
• Ability to effectively communicate with young students and their parents
• Passion for educating and nurturing young children
• Able to lift up to 35 pounds if needed
• Knowledge of ERS and Keystone Stars standards·
• Great customer service skills to communicate effectively with parents
• Knowledge of the social, emotional and creative needs of young children
• Bilingual is a plus
