About the Position

Inked Land Company is seeking a Full Time Contract Title Agent. The Title Agent will report to and work directly with a Sr. Title Agent and/or Title Manager in a remote capacity, while utilizing Company Software and Microsoft Office/Teams. This position is remote with 25-50% travel possible. Travel will mostly consist of abstracting index books at courthouses, gathering probates, and imaging, if necessary. When working remote, the Title Agent will organize and analyze instruments gathered in the Courthouse, create a complete chain of title, generate Title Reports, and communicate with their manager on progress, needs, and title issues. The Title Agent will work both independently and on teams. Title projects can range from 1 week to several months and across multiple States and Counties. The Title Agent should be driven and know when to communicate with management when necessary. Autonomy and promotions are available, at management’s discretion, for agents that show consistent growth in title knowledge and excellent work product. Responsibilities

• Research county records to determine surface and mineral ownership by utilizing online databases or travelling to the local county courthouse to review index books and instruments
• Analyze relevant instruments to determine if they are applicable to the title chain/report
• Meet deadlines and balance multiple priorities in an environment with shifting timeframes
• Contribute to other duties assigned by management and determined by business needs
• Must be able to work alone, make decisions and use judgment while researching county records and performing other related activities.
• Ability to travel 25-50% as dictated by job requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Title Agent or a related title position, with an emphasis on mineral title experience
• Must possess competent knowledge and skills in land description and terminology, surface and sub-surface rights, document analysis, and explanation of defects for title reports
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, predominantly Excel and Word
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication, problem-solving, time management, and computer skills
• Ability to meet specific deadlines, daily and weekly, based on current internal and client needs
• Ability to work with minimal supervision, to work alone, make decisions and use judgment while researching county records and performing other related activities
• Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management and clients (in writing and verbally)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• Degree in Energy Management/Commerce
• AAPL membership

Pay: $300.00 - $350.00 per day
