We are hiring a Territory Sales Representative for our Food Service team to be home office based in Northern Virginia and will work up in the DC market.  You will be responsible for driving growth and sustaining existing volume by working with customers within the designated territory selling Schwan’s products to foodservice distributors, K12 and non-commercial accounts in the assigned territory. This role reports to the Zone Sales Manager.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage and develop relationships with our distributor partners in the assigned territory. Including: sales meetings, training sessions, working with DSR’s, food shows, and industry events to grow case volume.
  • Manage approximate 45 accounts in assigned territory. Primarily focused on non-commercial sales with healthcare, college & university, recreation, business & industry as well as K-12 foodservice operators.  Some work with LLO’s.
  • Plan and execute product presentations and demonstrations in a commercial food service kitchen environment to increasing sales of existing and new products.
  • Develop operator business plans in conjunction with market plans.
  • Coordinate with the Zone Sales Manager to deliver business results for the market coverage area measured in Salesforce.
  • Effectively uncover customer needs / problems and move the customer to action through consultative selling
  • Travel required in assigned territory. Working in the field an average of four days per week. Estimate overnight travel 2-3 nights/ month.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a sales or sales support role

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree or Culinary Arts degree highly preferred
  • Food service sales industry experience
  • Experience with leading and/or executing customer events (distributor & operator)
  • Experience with developing operator business plans in conjunction with market plans 

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • PASSION for food
  • Self-starter, high bias for action. MUST BE comfortable working autonomously
  • Willing to conduct sales calls in commercial kitchens and preparing food as part of the sales process
  • Comfortable presenting information in group settings to a wide variety of audiences
  • Posses the ability to build business relationships through a consultative sales approach
  • Demonstrate analytical problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset
  • Acts with integrity and accepts coaching
  • Able to work within a high performing team and contribute to the overall success
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Salesforce
