Job Summary:
The Technology Support Specialist is responsible for customer support related to technology including but not limited to machine control, paving, marine, autonomy, wireless mesh network, and site infrastructure, assisting the Technology Sales Specialists as needed, and acting as a liaison between the OEM's, sales department, shop/field service and external customers. This position will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and training on machine control systems via phone, in-person, or remote access.
Responsibilities:
- Work with Trimble Specialists and Fabick Territory Managers to directly support Trimble products in their territory and across major portions of Illinois, Missouri, the entire state of Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
- Assist technicians with changes in install processes, measure-up, calibrations, and setup of Trimble machine control systems. Ensure consistency with installation procedures company wide.
- Order and prepare new grade control and site positioning technology equipment for installation. Assist with field installations, calibrations, and service calls as needed. Interact directly with the service supervisors to ensure timelines are established and met.
- Comply with routine reporting requirements. Establish, implement, and maintain necessary reports, records, controls and procedures to assure compliance with company and Trimble requirements including but not limited to serial numbers, warranty, and inventory tracking. Document equipment preparation, installation, troubleshooting, and onsite usage. Provide feedback and improvements based on customer usage and needs.
- Prepare training material and instructional guides regarding installation and use of grade control technology for internal and external use. Perform on-site customer training as needed.
- Responsible for maintaining good customer relations and continuing to build the company image. Resolve customer complaints as soon as possible. Treat customers fairly, friendly, and courteously. Assure customer contacts are made on a timely basis and in a business-like manner.
- Shipping and Receiving parts and kits using iRents, K*Tracks, UPS, Parts Portal or other systems as needed.
- Take sales inventory and perform parts cycle counts.
- Provide necessary information for billing.
- Manage repair requests, Trimble loaner fleet, and Trimble rental kits.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as required.
Desired Skills
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Associates or Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience preferred
- Mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills are required.
- Proficiency in Trimble Siteworks, Trimble Earthworks, Trimble Roadworks, Trimble Groundworks, Trimble GCS900, and Trimble SCS900, Trimble Marine Construction, Topcon, Leica or Caterpillar machine control, grade control or site positioning systems (e.g., GPS, total station) is highly desired.
- Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook required.
- Computer networking experience preferred.
- Comfortable with resolving customer issues and complaints required.
- Critical thinking, troubleshooting, general people, and customer service abilities required.
