About the Opportunity:

Joint Enterprise Technologies is currently seeking a talented Technical Writer to be responsible for creating and writing various types of user documentation, including how-to guides, references, manuals, cheat sheets, and instructions; explain scientific and technical ideas in simple language; and work with customers to translate their functional requirements into detailed technical specifications.

The successful candidate must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 IAW DoD policy prior to start date.

Required Clearance:

  • An active Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required.
  • Willingness to submit to and pass a counter intelligence (CI) Polygraph. 

Location:

  • Washington, DC

Functional Requirements:

  • A proven ability to distill complex information into clear, concise text.
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and grammar skills and ability to work independently, delivering accurate products under deadline pressure.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years in a technical or lead writing role.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering developer-oriented documentation as well as working directly with development teams.
  • Experienced using multiple documentation tools to develop base templates and manipulate output styles.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of software development (SDLC), IC ITE, RMF, and other key terminology as required.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements:

  • HS/GED + 12 years experience
  • Associates Degree + 10 years experience
  • Bachelor's Degree + 8 years experience
  • Master's Degree + 6 year experience
  • PhD + 4 years experience

Required Certifications: 

  • Security+ CE

Desired Certifications: 

  • ITIL Foundations (desired)
