Job Description
SUMMARY
Responsible for contributing to operation and maintenance of a Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Assessment System (LAS), and Learning Records Store (LRS) system, providing the ability to deliver training content in a virtual learning environment, conduct assessments, and capture/track student performance metrics for approximately 2,000 Active Duty and Reserve Sailors.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Project Controls Lead, responsible for the development and delivery of Federal Government CDRL deliveries and assisting with the development of documents and presentations.
- Work with Team Leads and other document owners to get CDRL documents updated and delivered within contractual delivery deadlines.
- Edit and revise text to ensure content is customer/Katmai-compliant, error-free and uniform in tone and style.
- Adhere strictly to program schedules and deadlines.
- Ensure document compliance with contract submission requirements related to section outlines, formatting, length, layout, etc. (i.e., Data Acquisition Document standard formats).
- Provide technical assistance to other team members on the development of PowerPoint files/presentations and Word templates.
- Works closely with the Senior Technical Writer and the Operations, Configuration Management, Software Development, Test, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Program Management teams as a member of the Process Controls Team.
- Directly interfaces with Government Product Owners to assure that Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) documents are delivered in the proper format and on time.
- Participate in team/Government meetings as needed.
- Take meeting notes and distribute them as required by contract.
- Create document layout, formatting, printing, and assembly.
- Assist with ad hoc team requests, as needed.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess or be able to obtain an active U.S. Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience in English, Journalism, Communications, or relevant technical field.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in technical writing, communications/marketing, or related field (NOTE: Will substitute for years of writing experience.)
- Minimum of two (2) years of proofreading, restructuring, editing and rewriting text for grammatical correctness, content flow and adherence to the appropriate writing styles.
- Advanced-level experience and capabilities using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience developing quality technical documentation, presentations, and meeting notes.
- Strong communication (verbal/written) and collaboration skills. Must be able to read, write, and speak fluent English.
- Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Minimum of one (1) year relevant Federal Government program experience.
- Experience developing CDRL documentation, presentations, and meeting notes for the Federal Government.
- Excellent written communication skills to create and accurate documentation, both written and electronic.
- Ability to work in a diverse, flexible, deadline driven, online/distributed, government environment.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Ability to create and maintain file structures in shared environments.
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.
- Ability to prioritize tasks successfully.

- Demonstrated ability to perform diverse duties while operating under time constraints.
- Be able to work independently and proactively with little supervision, but also must work well with others in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD)/Department of the Navy (DoN) documentation standards and/or prior military service experience preferred.
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Job Requirements
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project. May require flexible work schedule.
TRAVEL
Potential for travel. When required, employee will need to complete an MVR check.
DRIVING REQUIREMENTS
Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling for training and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 25%.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is expected to be remote; however, the company reserves the right to require onsite work.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Position consists of seeing up close and sitting for long periods of time, bending, stooping, crouching, and lifting weights up to 20 pounds. Frequently uses hands/fingers for manipulation of keyboard and mouse.
