Technical Writer
We are seeking a talented Technical Writer to join our team in the Washington DC Area. The ideal candidate will have strong written, verbal skills. This role requires experience in a similar capacity to understand, write, explain, and discuss detailed technical issues both for executives and technical staff members.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Estimated Starting Salary Range for Technical Writer: Pay commensurate with experience.

Technical Writer Responsibilities Include:
- Assist with editing and creating new IT (web, app, db, network) design documents.
- Conduct and facilitate interviews with government and contractor staff to gather information and requirements.
- Capture detailed meeting notes and action items for documentation and follow-up.
- Facilitate meetings as required to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Assist with Delivery Support Production environment status reporting
- Document and update playbook/implementation plan to support release
- Attends technical meetings and independently captures updates to project documentation artifacts such as Computer Operator Handbook (COH), Knowledge Articles
- Dedicated to the project during the development, deployment periods
- Assist with DSRT and Delivery validation decks and bottom line upfront (BLUF) statements for AD executive leadership
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Technical Writer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- An Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
- Experience within a federal organization, preferably in the Department of Treasury (IRS), is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written - to interact with Federal customer and contractor team members
- Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring work products meet industry and IRS standards
- Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
