Job Title:Technical Quality Engineer/ Quality Technician III 39141 - John Deere
Description:
- Designs, plans and performs verifications for parts, assemblies or products appearance, dimension and functionality according to inspection plans, engineering standards and blue prints for manufactured and purchased material of high complexity. Improves quality activities by using quality systems with a complete scope and depth. May program coordinate measuring machines.
- May work direct wage inspectors. (Experience at the Quality Tech II job with an overall knowledge of product functionality, engineering specifications, and manufacturing processes and a technical degree or equivalent experience).
- Facilitates, validates and audits the quality processes for the complex manufacturing processes such as heat treat, multiple step machining and assembly. Performs quality verifications, audits and complex special investigations.
Major Duties:
- Carry out a specified range of complex tests; interpret test data to verify that specifications are met and/or to identify remedial actions required to ensure conformance.
- Carry out a range of complex activities to generate evidence in support of the validation of existing and new quality assurance test methods and procedures.
- Carry out a range of quality management activities under the guidance of senior colleagues to contribute to the identification and evaluation of current policies and business processes that are in the scope of the quality management system (QMS) and to support the design, development, and documentation of new policies, procedures, and business processes.
- Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
- Implement improvements and provide feedback on them. Use change management systems and protocols to provide routine support services.
- Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications for technology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible for gathering and summarizing data for reports.
- Prioritize own workflow and ensure work is completed to the required standards of productivity, quality, and timeliness; use performance management systems to improve personal performance.
- Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
- Design owns monthly schedule and, if necessary, assign work to others in order to speed up office workflow and ensure high-priority tasks get done.

Shift:
- Shift 1- Expected start time of 6:00am and occasional weekend overtime as needed.
As a Technical Quality Engineer for Harvester Works located in East Moline, IL you will investigate quality issues related to product and processes, gather, and analyze data to determine root cause, document in NCCA system, and implement corrective action
In addition, you will:
- Use quality tools and practices to establish approval criteria to ensure the identification of quality concerns.
- Work with outside suppliers to communicate defective parts and work with the shipping department to return the defective parts.
- Monitor and facilitate quality activities for part approval, verify manufacturing processes and confirm process capability.
- Generate quality related reports for monitoring metrics.
What Skills You Need:
- 1 or more years of experience in manufacturing engineering, quality engineering or supply management in a design/manufacturing environment.
- 1 or more years of experience using standard quality tools (Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Root Cause Analysis, 8D, Statistics.
- 1 or more years of experience leading projects with minimal supervision to aggressively solve quality issues.
- 1 or more years of demonstrated communication, organizational, and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated experience with SAP and Excel
- Must work well within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills
- Shipping and receiving coordinator experience would be helpful for this role
What Makes You Stand Out:
- Experience with Machining, Welding and/or Assembly Engineering (ME/QE).
- Previous experience with Farming Equipment or Utility Vehicle production processes and organization.
- Knowledge of SAP-PAG.
- Knowledge of Client Equipment.
- Supplier Quality and Non-Conforming Material knowledge.
- Shipping and Purchase Orders Experience.
Education:
- Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
- Bachelor's degree in an Engineering Field preferred
