Tax Senior Manager / Director - Chicago (Hybrid)

Our client is a top 10 CPA firm in Chicago that provides a full range of accounting, tax, and consulting services to clients in various industries. They are looking for a highly experienced Tax Senior Manager / Director to join their tax practice.
Job Overview: This individual will be responsible for providing strategic direction, guidance, and technical expertise to clients, as well as managing the day-to-day operations of the tax department. The Tax Senior Manager / Director will also be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to the growth of the firm.
Responsibilities:

• Provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to clients in various industries, including but not limited to manufacturing, distribution, retail, healthcare, and technology.
• Manage and mentor tax staff and provide leadership, training, and guidance to develop their technical skills and professional growth.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients and identify new business opportunities.
• Ensure quality control procedures are followed for all tax engagements.
• Stay up-to-date with tax laws, regulations, and industry trends to provide clients with the most current information and guidance.
• Participate in the recruitment and retention of top talent for the tax department.
• Contribute to the growth and profitability of the firm through cross-selling opportunities and business development efforts.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification is required.
• At least 10 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax.
• Experience managing and overseeing a tax practice is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and team-building skills.
• Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
