Job Description Summary / TWC Summary:Responsible for teaching courses in media and public relations including PR writing, PR campaigns, tactics, and planning, teaching big-data usage and research methods for journalism majors. Works with graduate students and develops online content.
Essential Duties Summary:- Teaches twelve credit hours per semester, teach primarily courses in public relations, digital media, multimedia storytelling, big-data and journalism fundamentals. Additional teaching responsibilities may include communication courses needed by the School of Communication.
- Integrates utilization of statistical knowledge and big-data analysis in connection with research and social media analysis.
- Serves as undergraduate academic advisor, mentor students and advise student organizations.
- Serves as an active and collegial member of the department, university and community.
- Active participation in scholarly/creative projects and professional organizations.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range:$48,884.00 - $67,215.00
Education:Ph.D. in Mass Communication or related Communication field (preferably Journalism), in hand by day of appointment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of:

At least two (2) years of teaching experience is required. Teaching at the university level is strongly desired, especially using experiential learning methods and/or teaching online.
