Job Details – SeniorTax Manager (Generalist)
MGO is growing and we need an experienced, motivated and dedicated generalist Senior Tax Manager who can bring strong problem-solving skills, a varied background in partnership and corporate taxation (compliance and consulting) and 7-9 years of experience in public accounting to join the team. Past industries served will ideally include a range, such as technology, manufacturing, SaaS, life sciences, consumer goods and distribution. Some experience with complex partnership allocations or transactional M&A work is required.
Essential Functions:
- Efficiently review engagement work papers and returns for partnerships and C corporations
- Review and model the tax impact of transaction agreements and operating agreements
- Demonstrate an expertise in researching complex tax matters and clearly communicating findings to clients.
- Exhibit superior technical competence, managerial abilities, and the ability to attract and develop new clients.
- Provide team leadership through example.
- Take responsibility for overseeing and supervising multiple engagements in progress simultaneously in addition to other duties, including some assigned staff administrative duties.
- Develop employees in both technical and management areas, provide effective feedback to supervisors and seniors.
- This role may occasionally require overnight travel.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Licensed CPA required.
- Minimum of six years of experience in public accounting, one of which should be in a manager role.
- Experience servicing multiple industries.
- Experience with partnership and C corporation taxation – both compliance and consulting.
- Demonstrated success in leading and motivating subordinates and ability to plan and organize projects, especially long-term.
- Outstanding organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow and reassign as necessary.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
