- This is a newly created position within the organization and an investment we are making as part of our “Value Creation: Transforming for Scale” initiative.
- Historically all tax functions have been outsourced to an external Tax Accounting firm. We will continue to leverage external tax support as an extension of the Ivy finance team.
- The Senior Tax Accounting Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tax function within the organization. This includes developing and implementing tax strategies to optimize the Company’s tax position, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations, and providing strategic tax planning guidance to senior and executive leadership.
- The Senior Tax Accounting Manager will work very closely with our external tax consultants and other departments within the organization to achieve the Company’s financial objectives, while minimizing tax risks.
- Perform an assessment of our existing processes and procedures and make recommendations on how we can best support tax functions for the business.
- Establish more robust Tax Accounting processes with a focus on operating like a Best in Class finance department (strong internal controls, accuracy of results, streamlined procedures)
- Identify areas with an opportunity for automation within our tax preparation and accounting, as well as distribution of tax-related information to our 250+ minority interest owners
- Review taxable income across the organization and develop tax-planning strategies to minimize potential future tax exposure and take advantage of available tax credits and deductions.
- Manage the relationship and oversee and review the work performed by the external tax team.
- Work closely with our external tax advisors to ensure the Company is compliant with local, state and federal tax regulations.
- Partner with the due diligence and legal teams to understand the structure of potential M&A target companies and advise on tax considerations.
- Improve education with operations leadership and minority-interest owner teammates on tax implications of subsidiary-level investments and our tax distribution processes.
- Conduct tax research and analysis to stay abreast of changes in tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the Company.
- Monitor and manage tax audits and inquiries, as needed, including responding to inquiries from tax authorities and resolving tax disputes.
- Communicate effectively with senior management and stakeholders on tax-related matters, including presenting findings and recommendations.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or other related field; advanced degree (e.g., Master’s of Taxation, JD, or CPA) preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax planning and compliance, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements; including both partnership and corporate tax regulations.
- Experience with HealthCare MSO structures is a strong plus
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide practical solutions.
- Strategic thinkers with the ability to develop and implement tax processes and strategies that support business objectives.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a very fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, experience with Great Plains and WorkDay financials a strong plus.
- Team player that can collaborate with other teams in the organization
- Experience executing process improvements and overseeing change management
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to clearly communicate issues to all levels of management.
